Project countries

In addition to the partner countries, Luxembourg's development cooperation supports projects in seven countries known as "project countries".

In Vietnam and El Salvador, former partner countries whose Indicative Cooperation Programmes concluded at the end of 2015, Luxembourg's development cooperation continues to implement a number of projects, either to fulfil a specific commitment, or to diversify bilateral relations or even to implement cooperative ventures of a different type, such as triangular activities.

Projects also continued to be implemented in a limited number of countries in which Luxembourg's development cooperation has been active for many years, mainly because of their particular status. The countries in question are Kosovo, where a new programme has got under way Myanmar, Mongolia, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, which continue to enjoy the same status as the partner countries, and Afghanistan.
