Luxembourg's development cooperation in the occupied Palestinian territories (*)
In the occupied Palestinian territories (OPT), Luxembourg's cooperation programme makes a voluntary contribution to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNWRA) of 3,750,000 euro annually, as well as 750,000 euro for one of the agency's health projects. Moreover, Luxembourg supports 3 local NGOs (PARC, AMAN and PMRS) in the fields of health, agronomy, the fight against corruption and capacity-building for women. The total contribution to the OPT is in the neighbourhood of 7 million euro a year.
(*) The occupied Palestinian territories are to be considered as being on the Luxembourg development cooperation list of principal partner countries as provided for in article 3 of the Grand-Ducal regulation of 7 August 2012 establishing the intervention thresholds, annual financial ceiling, local input other than financial and audit obligations in the context of the co-financing of programmes or projects presented by development non-governmental organisations under the law of 6 January 1996 as amended on development cooperation and humanitarian action.
