Inter-ministerial committee for development cooperation



The Comité interministériel pour la coopération au développement (inter-ministerial committee for development cooperation) gives its opinion both on the broad thrust of development cooperation policy and on the matters indicated by the law of 6 January, 1996 on development cooperation.

Provisional timetable

As a rule, the Committee meets every two months chaired by the Director of development cooperation

Composition

The first article of the Grand-Ducal regulation of 7 August 2012 establishing the composition and functioning of the inter-ministerial committee for development cooperation envisages each member of the government appointing a delegate to sit on the committee.

The list of members is updated regularly and published on the Luxembourg development cooperation development website to ensure procedures are transparent.

The appointment of members and alternate members addresses the request by certain ministerial departments to be associated with the committee’s activities.

Agenda of meetings

As envisaged by the law of 6 January 6, 1996, as amended, on development cooperation and humanitarian action, the “Development cooperation” inter-ministerial committee sees its remit extended to the question of the consistency of government policy from the development cooperation perspective. In this context, the ministries concerned are required to appoint a delegate to this committee.
